Dr Ian Willis presented a paper ‘Local Newspapers and a Regional Setting in NSW’ at the 2021 ISAA AGM held online on 20 May 2021.
One delegate Joanna Nicholls responded by email and said:
I want to thank Dr Ian Willis OAM for an excellent talk yesterday. I found the history and the mythmaking equally fascinating. How sad that despite the valiant efforts of regional editors so many newspapers have folded or are struggling to survive. (I’m not a fan of social media).
Stay well. And all best wishes to the new ISAA Committee.

A comment from Laura Egan-Burt a resident of Menangle NSW After Sharing a post from Camden History Notes
I spent some of yesterday with the author of this Blog, Historian Dr Ian Willis. His knowledge of local history is amazing. We had an interesting discussion about the importance of Menangle as an Arts and Crafts village, which is something I have always suspected but have never had confirmed before. Have a Happy Sunday! Laura.
